Individual Portrait Commissions

Commissioned to celebrate an important birthday, this portrait shows a young woman of Indian heritage, in front of her childhood home in Manilla, Phillipines. Various views of that home, taken from a friend's recent photos, were used behind the figure in the compositional sketches, as the subject lived in Lake Forest and it was impractical to travel solely to collect new resource information. Among three different compostional sketches, , this closeup of the front door was chosen.
